Default Necromancer suggestion

Not a huge one, but perhaps the death magic could be altered a bit - currently it is uncastable if there are no corpses in range as it selects the available corpse on casting, resulting in huge problems with more than one necromancer around, since they will all target the same corpse.

If the target selection was moved to resolution of the spell the difficulties of having multiple necros using corpses would be solved. Sure, there might not be enough to go around, but at least 25 energy isn't down the drain when there's another corpse over a foot from the one that just got turned into a well of blood. It can still check for the existence of a corpse to start the casting, preventing wasting the spell when no corpses are around, or that can be removed and necromancers can waste energy, or even time their spell resolutions to the deaths of the enemies.

Necro's just seem to be broken, to me. You almost need a Monk using Unyielding Aura or Vengeance to make a Necro work. The whole corpse consumption thing needs a bit more thought, I think. I haven't yet found a Necro in PvP that was using corpse-consuming skills that I thought was played well.

Well i have already seen my corse stuff jump from the corpse i thought i would get when i exploited. The is one just in front of me and a nother a few feet further. In the middle of casting the one before me got exploited and my spell went off on the one beyond. granted this was during the prep time and not the actual casting resolution. I have spells fail all the time during resolution for one reason or another.

the thing i hate is the stupid necros that even when the party is getting killed think thier rasiing of minions will help more then a +7 well to heal everyone. i mean comeon when you have one or zero primary monks you need to let others be healers and that strong of a well deffinitly helps the healers stay on top of things.

Ok, first of all, this was about a suggestion to make it easier to deal with more than one necro in a party, not a necro bashing fest. If I am wrong about the effect then I am wrong, I swear I've had spells fizzle because the nearest corpse to me got exploited while I was casting, but it is possible that the other corpses were either used or I imagined the whole thing.

Second, I play a Blood Necro, so I know how useful a Well of Blood can be, though unless you are running Awaken the blood and get your attribute to 17+ you can't get a 7 pip well of blood. It hits 5 pips at 11 blood, switches to 6 pips for 14-16. 7 pips requires a maxed attribute, superior rune and awaken the blood to hit, so I doubt many necromancers are doing it.

Third, most necromancers running Death magic may not have Well of Blood, as it's from a different attribute. While some may be running both, most will complement their pets with curses and or healing, and a significant investment in soul reaping. Not a lot of room for blood magic.

I wasn't talking about PvP, I was talking about the ability in general. There are few corpse using necromancers in PvP because they don't work that well, at least with the designs people have used so far.
